NAME HILDIRÍÐUR HÖGNADÓTTIR TIME X CENTURY PLACES Norway FAMILY Daughter of Högni, married to the old chieftain Björgólfur. Their two sons were called Hildiríðarsynir. STORY She lived in the island Leka with her father, Högni. Her father threw a big party when Hildríður reached 16 years of age. Hildríður was a very beautiful young woman. Her father invited many people and one of them was a man named Björgólfur. Björgólfur lived at the big farm of Torgar and he was a lonely old man, he had lost his wife. Björgólfur had one son with his deceased wife, named Brynjólfur. In the party Björgólfur was upset about Hildríður. After the party Björgólfur went home but he wanted her so badly that he returned to Leku with many armed men and demanded that Högni would give up his daughter so the she could become Björgólfur´s wife. Björgólfur and Hildríður went to Torgar. Brynjólfur was not pleased about what his father had done. Hildríður and Björgólfur later had two boys, they where twins, named Hárekur and Hrærekur, called sons of Hildríður. When Björgólfur died his son Brynjólfur took over Torgar and he threw Hildríður and Hildríðarsynir out and they went to Leka. Brynjólfur did not give them money after their fathers death, he told them that their mother was not legally married to their father.
Brynjólfur had a son, Bárður. He took over the farm when Brynjólfur died. Sons of Hildríður went to Torgar and tried to collect their heritage. Bárður said that they would no get anything. Bárður was a very good friend of Þórólfur Kveld-Úlfsson. They went to a battle for the king of Norway. Bárður got heart badly and he gave Þórólfur everything he owned because he knew that he was going to die. When Þórólfur became the owner of Torgar, the sons of Hildríður tried to get money from Þórólfur but Þórólfur did not give them any mony at all. After that Þórólfur and sons of Hildiríður became sworn enemies. This leads to Þórólfur's death and the departure of the whole family of Egill Skalla-Grímsson.
