Erzsébet

Name Erzsébet (Kotromanic) Hungarian queen

Family Daughter of Erzsébet princess of Kujiva and István Kotromanic ruler of Bosnia.
In 1353 she got married to Lajos the Great Hungarian King.
She had three daughters: Katalin, Maria and Hedvig

Time she lived XIV. Century

Story After the death of her husband to meet her need for power she ruled the country instead of her daughter, Margit. She was not able to represent a defermined political direction so uprisings broke out in Croatia which was calmed down by her presence. She could not prevent „Kis Károly” from being crowned so she organized a plot against him and had him assasinated. This way she got the power again. When riots broke out she wanted to visit the places herself but on the way her retinue were killed vohereas she and her daughter became captive. They were kept in Port Gemenc. Later she was taken to Novigrad where she was strangled in 1387.
She was buried in Zara.
