A story of the goddess: Skadi went to the Gods' World to revenge her father, Thjasi, whom the gods had killed. But the gods offered to pay her whatever she wanted as a compensation. She wanted to choose one of the gods as her husband. She was only allowed to see their feet and thought that she had chosen Baldur, the white one, but it turned out that she'd chosen Njordur. Skadi was raised in the mountains of the Giants' World. She wanted to have her home up in the mountains. But Njordur wanted of course to live by the seaside. Their marriage thus didn't work and they got divorced.
