| THE FACTS |
Naples has always been a city where faith and traditions have
filled everybody’s life. In this context is no wonder that many religious
figures have dominated the life and culture and are strongly worshipped
by the population. On the other hand, Naples has also been associated with
women figures and myths from Parthenope on. These two trends seem to
join in the great number of Patron Saint ladies of the town. Some
of them are not Neapolitan such as Saint anna or Saint Maddalena,
but others lived and worked in Naples leaving their strong marks there.
These are : Saint Candida, Saint Restituta, Saint Patrizia and saint Maria
Francesca delle Cinque Piaghe.
