Women played an important role in the Hungarian legends, maybe the most important was Saint Erzsébet from the House of Árpád. She was a saint, who can be found in all ages as a motivation and guiding for Hungarian People.

She was born to the Royal Family in 1207. Her father was King András, her mother was Gertrudis. 
Time she lived:  XIII. century. Was born in 1207 (Sárospatak), died in 17 November in 1231 (Marburg, now Maribor , Slovenia)
Where she lived:  She grew up in a surroundings in the town of Wartburg. Then she lived in Hungary until 1228, when she retired to Marburg. She lived there until she died. 
Legend: On Good-Friday of 1228, when the altar was pured, she put her hands on the altar in the Minoritan Church and resigned all her treesurier and respects. Erzsébet built a hospital on her own money and served there as a nurse. Then the rest of her money was distributed among the poor. Once she was on her way with this money in her apron when she met a person related to her husband. This person tried to reveal her that she dispensed her husband's wealth. Erzsébet said she had only roses in her apron . When she had to show that the money and food turned to roses with the help of God.

In November of 1231 she got ill, and died. She was buried in Marburg. Four years later she was canonized saint.
