XIX. Century Story
In her jouth she studied arts in Munich and Paris but under the influence of her aunt she turned to paedagogy. In 1846 she founded a Hungarian speaking institution for girls in Pest. This is considered the first girls’s secondary school in Hungary. In this school subjects were taught by trained teachers. She was euthusiastic about the Hungarian Bourgeou Revolution which was fought against the Habsburgs. As she was hiding refugees after the failure of the revolution she was captured and sentenced 5 years impisonment. She had contacts with foreign progressive circles.
She died in 1862.
